Капиталоемкость
Показатель, определяющий количество дополнительного капитала, необходимого для производства каждой дополнительной единицы продукции или количество дополнительно произведенной продукции при затратах каждой дополнительной единицы капитала. Капиталоемкость показывает, насколько эффективны новые инвестиции для стимулирования экономического роста. Если, например, показатель капиталоемкости равняется 4:1, это означает, что каждые четыре единицы дополнительных капиталовложений дают возможность увеличить выпуск продукции на одну единицу.Новый англо-русский словарь-справочник. Если провести физическую аналогию, этот показатель как бы играет роль массы, характеризующей инерцию экономической системы: чем больше требуется капиталовложений на дополнительную единицу производства конечного продукта, тем система более инерционна (меньше ее реакция на изменение объемов капитальных вложений).
